U.S. President Donald Trump expressed that decisions made on Wednesday are having a “tremendous impact” as leaders from the Group of Seven Nations gathered to talk about the conflict in Iran and its effects on the economy. This was shared in a short video clip by the French presidency. Trump stated, “I think we are having a tremendous impact, unbelievable actually, on the world,” after French President Emmanuel Macron, who led the G7 meeting, allowed him to speak. It was not clear if Trump was referring to the recent decision to release oil stocks. Trump and Macron spoke following a recommendation from the International Energy Agency (IEA) to release 400 million barrels of oil. This is the largest release in the history of the IEA and aims to help control rising crude prices due to the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
