The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) plans to introduce a no-confidence motion against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody in Parliament next week. SJB MP Ajith P. Perera announced that the party made this decision together. He explained, “We are moving forward with the no-confidence motion based on two reasons. First, the Bribery Commission has already charged him in the Colombo High Court, and second, he has not managed the coal procurement process well.” MP Ajith P. Perera also mentioned that the SJB is reaching out to other opposition parties to gain more support for the motion. He encouraged government MPs who can act independently to lend their support as well.
