India's foreign minister announced on Saturday that an Iranian naval ship has arrived at a port in India. This comes after a U.S. submarine sank an Iranian warship and another ship asked for help from Sri Lanka. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stated that the IRIS Lavan is now docked in Kochi, a city in southern India, after India allowed it to come in when the ship reported having issues on March 1. "I think it was the humane thing to do," Jaishankar remarked. On Wednesday, a U.S. submarine sank the Iranian warship IRIS Dena near the coast of Sri Lanka. Another ship, the IRIS Bushehr, sought assistance from Sri Lanka, and over 200 sailors were safely brought to land. Both vessels had taken part in naval drills organized by India, but Jaishankar noted that they ended up "caught on the wrong side of events" when the conflict started.
