Limited number of flights to resume from Dubai this evening
Emirates has declared that it will start a limited number of flights this evening (02) as it begins to gradually resume its services after recent events in the region. The airline stated that customers with earlier bookings will be prioritized, and those who are rebooked for these limited flights will receive direct communication. Emirates advised passengers not to head to the airport unless they have received confirmation of their flight details. The airline also mentioned that all other flights will remain suspended until further notice, emphasizing that it is keeping a close eye on the situation and will adjust its flight schedule as needed. Updates will be available on its official website and social media platforms. Dubai Airports confirmed that a “limited resumption” of flights would also start this evening, with a “small number of flights” departing from Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). Travelers were urged not to go to the airports unless they have been contacted by their airline with specific departure times. In related news, Germany has announced plans to send planes to evacuate tourists stuck in the Middle East, according to its foreign minister. These flights will operate from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Muscat, Oman, as reported by Johann Wadephul. This morning, UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper mentioned that the government is working “immensely hard” to assist in bringing people back home, noting that about 100,000 British citizens have registered with the UK Foreign Office. Additionally, the United Arab Emirates announced that it will cover accommodation costs for all travelers stranded in the country.
