US President Donald Trump spoke with CNN in a nine-minute phone call on Monday morning. He stated that the US military is currently “knocking the crap” out of Iran, but warned that the “big wave” of action is still to come. “We’re knocking the crap out of them,” Trump told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I believe it’s going very well. It’s very powerful. We have the best military in the world, and we’re using it.” During the interview, Trump discussed various subjects, such as how long he thinks the conflict will last, his surprise at the extent of Iran’s retaliation, and the country’s possible future leadership. When asked if the US is doing anything beyond military actions to assist the Iranian people in regaining control from their government, Trump responded, “Yes.” He added, “We are indeed. But right now, we want everyone to stay indoors. It’s not safe outside.” The president indicated that it may become even more dangerous soon, stating, “We haven’t even begun hitting them hard. The big wave hasn’t happened yet. The big one is coming soon.”
