LNP - Sri Lanka’s first AI-powered hotel inaugurated

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath attended the inauguration of the Grand Serendib Colombo, Sri Lanka’s first AI-powered hotel project, held last night (10) at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo. The event also celebrated the 20th anniversary of ABEC, the company behind the project. Sri Lanka National Cricket Team Head Coach Sanath Jayasuriya and ABEC Premier Dilip K. Herath joined the minister in officially launching the landmark initiative. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Herath said, “This project is a significant investment in Sri Lanka, reflecting the growing potential of our tourism sector. By integrating artificial intelligence, it will take the country’s smart hospitality and tourism industry to a new level.” The inauguration was attended by Member of Parliament Dr. Harsha de Silva, professors, diplomats, and academics from both local and international universities, underlining the project’s significance for Sri Lanka’s tourism and innovation landscape
