The budget 2025 has allocated Rs. 20 billion for national carrier SriLankan Airlines, for the repayment of the principal and interest of its loan.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake reading the budget speech said that Rs. 10 billion will be allocated for the capital repayment and Rs. 10 billion for the interest repayment.
Once the debt service costs are settled by the government, the president stressed that the carrier will be fully responsible for ensuring its profitability.
