The former strongman is shying away from answering telephone calls these days, they say.

The reason is that calls are coming on his phones in a stream from a purohita who is not welcome to Pohottuwa.

The purohita has started calling now and again the Pohottuwa ideologue as well. He has already conveyed the message that he is willing to cast his lot with the opposition. However, all Pohottuwa front-liners had told the party leadership that accommodating this purohita, an uncompromising critic of Pohottuwa leaders in the past, would be a big liability. So, the Pohottuwa heavyweights have decided not to answer the calls coming from the unwelcome purohita, they say.
