French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron spoke with Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, on Monday. During their discussion, Macron emphasized France's support and its commitment to help strengthen Saudi Arabia's air defenses. He posted on X, saying, "I just had a conversation with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman. I confirmed France's solidarity and our pledge to aid in enhancing Saudi Arabia's air defenses, especially as the Kingdom faces repeated and unacceptable attacks from Iranian missiles and drones." Macron highlighted the importance of Iran restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. He stated, "Given the risk of an escalation getting out of hand, it is crucial for all parties involved to agree on a temporary pause in attacks on energy facilities and civilian infrastructure. Iran must also restore free navigation in the Strait of Hormuz." He called for everyone to act responsibly and with restraint. "This moment requires responsibility and restraint to create the right conditions for restarting dialogue, which is the only way to ensure peace and security for all. The G7 and the Gulf Cooperation Council should enhance their coordination at this pivotal time. France and Saudi Arabia are collaborating in this effort." Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that explosions were heard in Tehran. Iran’s Exiled Crowned Prince Reza Pahlavi stated on Monday that Iran is not the Islamic Republic and called for the regime to be dismantled. In a post on X, he said, "Iran is not the Islamic Republic. Iran’s civilian infrastructure belongs to the Iranian people and the vision of a free Iran. The Islamic Republic's infrastructure serves as a tool of oppression and terror that prevents that vision from becoming a reality. Iran must be safeguarded. The regime needs to be dismantled."
