Iran's army chief, Amir Hatami, has warned of strong retaliation following the killing of security chief Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike. In his statement, he said, “At the right time and place, we will deliver a decisive, deterrent, and regrettable response to the criminal America and the bloodthirsty Zionist regime.” He also mentioned that the deaths of Larijani and other “martyrs will be avenged.” According to reports from the AFP news agency, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, which operates separately from the army, have already targeted central Israel with missiles “in revenge” for Larijani’s death.
