Tuesday will be most intense day of strikes on Iran, Hegseth says
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth designated Tuesday as the "most intense day" for US strikes on Iran, criticizing the regime as "barbaric savages" while claiming Tehran is in a "race to a nuclear bomb." During a Pentagon press briefing, Hegseth stated, “Today will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran.” His remarks followed his observation that in the past 24 hours, Iran launched the fewest missiles it has yet. He described Iranian leaders as “desperate and scrambling.” Hegseth added, “For 47 years, these barbaric savages in the Iranian regime have killed our brothers in arms, my guys, your guys, our guys, through their terrorist proxies and cowardly attacks, and now they race toward a nuclear bomb to hold the world hostage.” Additionally, General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, reported that joint US-Israeli strikes have led to a 90% decrease in Iranian missile launches targeting Israel and Gulf nations. Caine noted that the strikes had targeted 5,000 sites in Iran and that the US is still working to weaken the Iranian navy.
