The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing of appeal petitions from former ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando until tomorrow, November 11. These petitions challenge the prison sentences they received for corruption. Today, November 10, a five-member bench led by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena reviewed the case. The arguments from President’s Counsel Romesh de Silva, representing Mahindananda Aluthgamage, were completed during the session. Tomorrow, attorneys for the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) will present their arguments when the hearing continues.
