SC hearing of Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando s appeals postponed until tomorrow

The Supreme Court has postponed the review of appeals made by former ministers Mahindananda Aluthgamage and Nalin Fernando against their prison sentences until tomorrow, October 10. Today, a five-judge panel led by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena heard the appeals. During the session, President’s Counsel Ali Sabry, representing Nalin Fernando, presented initial arguments. More arguments from Ali Sabry are set for tomorrow. After that, a group of lawyers, including President’s Counsel Ramesh de Silva, will argue for Mahindananda Aluthgamage. The five-judge panel will continue the appeal hearings tomorrow.
