An Indian man was arrested today (09) at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) by officers from the Airport Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) while trying to leave with a large amount of "Kush" cannabis. The 27-year-old suspect, who is a businessman, had arrived at the airport around 12:10 a.m. from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on an AirAsia flight, FD-047. During a search of his two bags, officers found 2.7 kilograms of "Kush" cannabis hidden in six packets. The estimated street value of the drugs is Rs. 27.62 million. The suspect and the drugs will be presented in Negombo Magistrate’s Court today for further legal action.
