19-year-old arrested over reckless motorcycle riding video circulating on social media

A 19-year-old man has been arrested by the police in Sri Lanka after a video on social media showed him riding a motorcycle in a dangerous way. The police stated that the video depicted two young men riding recklessly, blocking other vehicles and putting other drivers at risk. Following the release of the video, the police began looking into the matter. Their investigation found that the motorcycle was heading towards Anamaduwa during the incident. A team from the Nawagattegama Police Station apprehended the young man yesterday, on the 8th. He faces charges of reckless and dangerous driving, as well as attempting culpable homicide by endangering the lives of others. Authorities have also seized the motorcycle involved in the incident. The suspect, a resident of Nawagattegama, is set to appear in the Anamaduwa Magistrate’s Court today, the 9th, while the Nawagattegama Police continue their investigation.
