All flights from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) to the Middle East that were supposed to take place today, March 1, have been cancelled because of the ongoing conflict in the area. Since fighting began in the Middle East on February 28, airport officials reported that 115 flights between Sri Lanka and Middle Eastern nations have been cancelled.
