Trump claims Iran s Supreme Leader killed in joint US Israeli strikes, Iran denies reports
US President Donald Trump announced that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been killed in a coordinated strike by the United States and Israel. On his Truth Social platform, Trump stated, “Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead.” Earlier on Saturday, satellite images revealed damage to Khamenei’s compound in Tehran after the attacks, and the Israeli Prime Minister suggested that there were increasing indications that Khamenei was "gone." However, Iran has not confirmed his death. Reports indicate that dozens of individuals were killed across the country. In retaliation, Iran launched strikes across the Middle East, targeting countries with US military bases or those allied with the US. Trump remarked on Truth Social, “This is not only justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans.” He claimed that Khamenei could not escape the reach of US intelligence and tracking systems, and that, in collaboration with Israel, there was nothing Khamenei or other leaders could do. Trump also stated, “This is the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their Country.” He warned that “the heavy and pinpoint bombing will continue without interruption throughout the week or as long as needed to achieve our objective.” Iranian state media, including the Tasnim and Mehr news agencies, refuted claims of Khamenei’s death, asserting that he remains “steadfast and firm in commanding the field.”
