Due to the rising tensions in the Middle East, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism is keeping a close watch on the situation for Sri Lankan citizens living in the affected areas. The Ministry advises all Sri Lankans in these countries to carefully follow the directions given by local governments and to adhere to the guidance from Sri Lankan Embassies located there. To provide ongoing support, the Ministry has set up a 24-hour Emergency Operations Center at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. In case of emergencies, help and information can be accessed through these contact numbers: WhatsApp/Imo: +94 71 980 2822 and Hotline: 1989.
