The Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel, Nimal Bandara, has reported that no Sri Lankans have been injured in Israel due to the recent missile attacks from Iran. He shared this information with Ada Derana. On Saturday, in response to a joint attack by the U.S. and Israel on Iran, Iran launched missiles towards Israel. In reaction, Israel has prohibited public gatherings, closed schools and workplaces, and moved hospital patients to underground facilities. Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, announced a state of emergency nationwide, alerting citizens about potential missile and drone strikes from Iran. The military has instructed the public to follow emergency protocols and has advised against unnecessary travel to ensure that security and emergency vehicles can move without hindrance. Ambassador Bandara expressed hope that the situation would stabilize within two days. He noted that Ben Gurion Airport is currently closed, meaning Sri Lankans wishing to leave Israel and those planning to arrive will need to delay their travel. The Embassy is working to inform Sri Lankans in Israel about safety measures and other protocols.
