A Special Parliamentary Select Committee with 11 members has been formed to examine the electoral system for Provincial Council elections in Sri Lanka. The committee will investigate how these elections should be held and provide proposals and recommendations. Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne made this announcement in Parliament today, October 20. Minister Vijitha Herath will lead the committee. The following member has been appointed to the committee: Attorney-at-Law Sunil Watagala.
