Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala announced in Parliament today (20) that one of the two gunmen involved in the double murder of a lawyer and his wife in Akuregoda has been identified. He also mentioned the driver who took the shooters to their lodging. The Minister assured that actions are being taken to catch all those responsible. He stated that the vehicle used in the crime was found burned in the Baddegama area. Another vehicle, which was used to bring the guns for the crime, has been located in Kottawa. Efforts are ongoing to find the car that transported the shooters before the incident, and its owner has been identified. The shooter who fired at the victims has been named as Robert Suresh, living on Pansala Road, Meewala, Rukgahawila. The minister confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to capture him. Additionally, the owner of the vehicle that took the shooters to their lodging has been identified as Wanniarchchige Sihina Dilsara, who lives at ‘Rasika Niwasa,’ Old Colony, Athkandura, Galle. Investigations continue to locate the suspect and the vehicle involved.
