Today, the Department of Meteorology announced that Nuwara Eliya experienced the lowest temperature in Sri Lanka, dropping to 3.5°C. This measurement was taken early this morning from the weather observation centers in the region. This is the coldest temperature seen in a while. Other areas reported minimum temperatures of 11.5°C in Bandarawela, 15.1°C in Badulla, and 15.9°C in Katugastota. Meanwhile, Mullaitivu had the highest temperature today at 25.3°C.
