The body of the famous Sri Lankan singer Latha Walpola is being displayed at a private funeral home in Borella today, December 29, for the public to say their goodbyes. Since yesterday afternoon, December 28, many people, including well-known personalities, have been coming to pay tribute to the beloved artist. Latha Walpola will be buried at the Borella General Cemetery on December 31, 2025 (Wednesday), with full government honors. She passed away on the night of December 27 at the age of 92 while undergoing treatment at Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital. Her remains were taken to the funeral home in Borella yesterday afternoon for the public to pay their respects. Since 4:00 p.m. yesterday, a large crowd of fellow artists, politicians, fans, and community members have been arriving. The public can pay their final respects to the legendary singer today from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025.
