Today, on the 24th, the international price for gold has hit a record high of over US$ 4,500 per ounce. In the Colombo Pettah gold market, a 22-carat gold sovereign is now priced at Rs. 327,500, reflecting the latest changes. Additionally, the cost of a pound of 24-carat gold has climbed from Rs. 352,000 yesterday to Rs. 354,000 today, as reported by traders in the market.
