LNP - Over 30 cities suspend business operations

Business operations of at least 31 cities across the country have been suspended as of today while another 15 cities have suspended operations today due to the spread of COVID-19. Accordingly, business operations in the areas under the Trincomalee Urban and Municipal Council, Kegalle, Chilaw, Ampara, Wennappuwa, Kekirawa,Monaragala, Divulapitiya, Deraniyagala, Orrgasmanghandiya, Wadduwa, Banduragoda, Rikillagaskada, have stopped. In addition, business have also come to a standstill in Ambalangoda, Maradagahamula, Veyangoda, Dankotuwa, Serunuwara, Palapathwala, Ulpatha, Tangalle, Badulla, Balangoda, Walapane, Bandarawela, Embilipitiya, and Matale areas. Shops in some cities have decided to close for a week, and in other cities for two weeks until further notice.
