73-year-old attacked to death by elder brother over land dispute in Elpitiya

A dispute between two brothers turned deadly today (26) in the Polgaswatta area of Batuwanhena, Elpitiya, at around 11:00 a.m., according to police reports. The victim, a 73-year-old man, died after his elder brother allegedly attacked him with a club during an argument. Both brothers lived near the location of the incident. The conflict began when surveyors came to measure the land, and tensions rose between the siblings after their work was finished. The argument escalated, leading to the attack. The younger brother fell to the ground after being struck, and family members quickly took him to Elpitiya Base Hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. The deceased was a father of five. Investigations are underway by Elpitiya Police to find the suspect involved in this tragic event.
