In Kirulapone, authorities have arrested a suspect who had 5 kilograms of hashish. They also seized a scooter during the operation. This raid was conducted by officers from the Gonahena Special Task Force (STF), who acted on tips from the Sri Lanka Army Intelligence Unit. The hashish is estimated to be worth around Rs. 30 million. The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) is looking into the case further. In a separate incident, another suspect was caught with 136 kilograms of Wallapatta and tools believed to be used for extracting Wallapatta oil. This operation took place in the Welipitiya Divisional Secretariat Division in the Matara District. The Weligama Police Station is continuing the investigation into this case.
