Lane closed on Colombo–Galle road near Kalutara after gravel spill triggers motorcycle accidents

A lane on the Colombo–Galle main road is closed near Kalutara–Wettumakada due to a gravel spill from a truck this morning (23). The Kalutara South Police reported that the back door of the truck, which was carrying crushed stones, opened while it was moving. This caused gravel to spread over nearly 800 meters of the road. Four motorcycles that tried to pass through this area were involved in minor accidents because of the debris, as noted by an Ada Derana reporter. The truck was on its way from Colombo to Galle when the incident happened and has been taken by the police for unsafe and careless transportation of the material.
