Heavy rainfall expected in most parts of the island today

Today, the island is expected to experience heavy rainfall, particularly after 1:00 PM, according to the Department of Meteorology. Some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-western provinces, as well as in the districts of Galle, Matara, and Anuradhapura, may receive over 100 mm of rain. In the early morning, misty conditions could affect regions in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-central, and Uva provinces, along with Galle, Matara, and Kurunegala districts. The public is urged to take necessary precautions to reduce potential damage from strong winds and lightning that may accompany the thundershowers.
