Court fixes May 12 for further evidence in Diana Gamage case
The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has scheduled May 12 for additional evidence in the case against former State Minister Diana Gamage. This case, initiated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), involves accusations of providing false information to the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration to secure a passport, as well as living in Sri Lanka without a valid visa. Today, the case was reviewed by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga Bodaragama, according to an Ada Derana reporter. The Magistrate has ordered that further evidence be recorded on May 12. Following advice from the Attorney General, the CID has charged the former State Minister with seven offences, claiming she violated the Immigration and Emigration Act by residing in Sri Lanka without a valid visa and by giving false information to obtain a passport between July 14, 2016, and November 1, 2020.
