Health Minister assures solutions to GMOA s concerns

Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has assured that the government can address all concerns. He highlighted that some issues raised by the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) have already been resolved, with more solutions on the way. The ongoing strike about appointments for post-intern medical doctors has been settled, according to him. Dr. Jayatissa mentioned that out of 453 eligible doctors, 435 have applied for these positions. He said that a list of the applicants is being prepared and will be officially shared soon. The Minister also confirmed that the first appointments for these doctors will take place before the Sinhala and Hindu New Year celebrations.
