She announced on X Tuesday evening, “TUNE IN: Tomorrow night at 9PM ET, President Trump will address the nation to give an important update on Iran.” This announcement follows Trump’s comments in the Oval Office where he provided an updated timeline for ending the conflict, stating he anticipates it will conclude in “two weeks, maybe three.” When asked how long the war might last, Trump said, “I would say within two weeks, maybe, two weeks, maybe three. I think within two or three weeks, we’ll leave. There’s no reason for us to do this.” Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth mentioned on Tuesday that the upcoming days in the Iran war will be “decisive.” He noted that the Islamic Republic’s military threatened to attack U.S. tech firms in the Middle East. Meanwhile, Americans are facing rising gas prices. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned of possible strikes on U.S. companies in the area, including Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, Palantir, Nvidia, and Tesla. They indicated that attacks could begin as early as Wednesday and advised those near U.S. facilities to evacuate. The White House stated that the U.S. is prepared to respond to any threats. In Saudi Arabia, the State Department has urged all Americans to stay indoors due to threats against U.S. citizens. Trump suggested that the U.S. might stop trying to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, telling allied nations to “start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore.” Just a day before, he warned he might bomb civilian targets in Iran if peace talks do not succeed. Iranian officials have insisted they are not negotiating with the U.S. and promised to “severely punish aggressors.” As Iran tightened its grip on the strait, which is crucial for transporting one-fifth of the world’s oil, average gas prices in the U.S. surpassed $4 a gallon for the first time since 2022.
