“Not going to be there too much longer”- Trump s big hint on Iran War timeline
US President Donald Trump has indicated that the conflict in Iran is close to conclusion and that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen on its own once American troops leave the area. In a phone interview with the New York Post on Tuesday, Trump stated that the US military efforts were severely damaging Iran but would not continue for much longer. “We’re not going to be there too much longer. We’re really hurting them right now, it’s a complete destruction. But we won’t need to stay much longer; we still have more to do regarding eliminating their remaining offensive capabilities,” he mentioned. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about 20 to 25 percent of the world's oil supply, Trump expressed that the issue would sort itself out after the US withdraws, urging other nations that rely on the waterway to take action themselves. “I believe it’ll automatically open, but my view is that I’ve devastated the country. They have no power left, and the countries using the strait should go and open it... I think whoever controls the oil will be eager to open the strait,” he told the New York Post. Trump’s remarks about the strait came after he posted on his Truth Social platform, criticizing the United Kingdom and other nations struggling with fuel shortages. “All those countries, like the United Kingdom, that can’t secure jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz and didn’t participate in the downfall of Iran, I have a suggestion: First, buy from the U.S., we have plenty. Second, gather some courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT. You need to learn to fight for yourselves; the USA won’t be there to support you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been largely defeated. The hard part is over. Go get your own oil!” he wrote. Trump also told the New York Post that the military campaign had reached important goals. “We’ve eliminated their nuclear capability, and we’ve achieved regime change,” he said.
