“Americans were only negotiating with themselves”- Iranian military spokesperson

An Iranian military spokesperson ridiculed U.S. efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement on Wednesday, claiming that the Americans were merely negotiating with themselves. Lt. Col. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, representing the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters of the Iranian military, made these remarks in a video that was broadcast on state television. He stated, “The strategic power you speak of has become a strategic failure.” He added, “The so-called global superpower would have resolved this situation by now if it could. Don't disguise your defeat as a deal. Your time of empty promises is over.” Zolfaghari questioned, “Have your internal disputes become so severe that you are only negotiating with yourselves?” His comments followed the Trump administration's delivery of a 15-point ceasefire proposal to Iran via Pakistan. He emphasized, “From day one, our position has remained unchanged: someone like us will never agree with someone like you. Not now, not ever.” Zolfaghari asserted, “Stability in the region comes from the strength of our military. Stability through strength.” He concluded by saying, “Let it be clear: nothing will return to how it was until it is our decision. That change will only occur when the idea of acting against the Iranian nation is completely erased from your corrupt minds.”
