The National Transport Commission (NTC) has revealed that changes to bus fares will take place today, the 22nd. Reports indicate that calculations for the fare adjustments are ongoing. Even though fuel prices have risen multiple times before, bus fares have not changed during those increases. The Lanka Private Bus Owners’ Association (LPBOA) has mentioned that a minimum fare rise of 15% is anticipated. Additionally, they pointed out that diesel prices went up by 31%, effective from midnight on the 21st.
