Mainly dry weather expected in parts of the island today

Today, parts of Sri Lanka are likely to see mainly dry weather. However, the Department of Meteorology warns that some areas in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, as well as the Nuwara-Eliya district, may experience showers or thundershowers after 1:00 PM. Other regions on the island will generally remain dry. In the early morning, misty conditions are expected in certain areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with Galle, Matara, Kaluthara, and Kurunegala districts. The public is advised to take precautions to reduce risks from strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
