Showers expected after 2pm in several areas today

The Department of Meteorology has announced that showers or thundershowers are likely in several areas after 2:00 p.m. today, October 20. These areas include the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, along with the districts of Galle, Matara, Mannar, Anuradhapura, and Vavuniya. In the early morning, misty conditions are expected in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, Kaluthara, Gampaha, Kurunegala, and Anuradhapura districts. The public in Sri Lanka is advised to take necessary precautions to avoid damage from strong winds and lightning that can occur during thundershowers.
