The Special Representative for South and Central Asia from the United States, Sergio Gor, who is also the US Ambassador to India, met with Sri Lanka's President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today, September 19, at the Presidential Secretariat. They talked about how to improve the relationship between the United States and Sri Lanka, as stated by the President’s Media Division (PMD). The President informed the group about Sri Lanka’s views on the current conflict in the Middle East and the challenges the country is facing due to this situation. Present at the meeting were the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake; Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma; Senior Economic Adviser to the President, Duminda Hulangamuwa; Senior Additional Secretary to the President, Roshan Gamage, along with members of Sergio Gor’s team.
