Sri Lanka's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is projected to grow by 5 percent in 2025, according to a statement from the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS). The GDP at constant prices for Sri Lanka is expected to rise to Rs. 13,128,577 million, up from Rs. 12,508,954 million recorded in 2024. In a communiqué regarding the National Accounts Estimates, the DCS reported that the GDP at current prices is anticipated to increase to Rs. 32,750,844 million, compared to Rs. 30,095,825 million, reflecting an 8.8 percent rise at current prices. The three main sectors of the economy—Agriculture, Industry, and Services—contributed to the GDP at current prices with shares of 8.4 percent, 25.4 percent, and 54.6 percent, respectively. Additionally, the 'Taxes less subsidies on products' segment contributed 11.6 percent to the GDP in 2025. Each of the three main sectors showed growth in 2025, with Agriculture growing by 1.4 percent, Industry by 7.8 percent, and Services by 3.3 percent.
