Emergency talks held to maintain airline operations during fuel shortage
Emergency talks were held to discuss how to keep airline services running smoothly during the ongoing fuel shortage. This crisis has been caused by the current conflict in the Middle East. The meeting was led by Janith Ruwan Kodithuwakku, who is the Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation. It occurred at the Civil Aviation Authority's offices. W.W.S. Mangala, the Secretary of the Ministry of Ports and Civil Aviation, was present, along with the Chairman and Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority and several senior ministry officials. During the talks, the group closely examined the current amount of aviation fuel available and how to manage it effectively. They also looked for ways to ensure that airlines can keep operating without any interruptions. Given the tough situation, they discussed how the Civil Aviation Authority can manage fuel use while still providing continuous service.
