Dedicated WhatsApp hotline introduced to report crime in Western Province

Police in Sri Lanka have launched a new 24-hour WhatsApp hotline to help the public report crime in the Western Province. The Special Operations Room, located at the Office of the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Western Province, will receive tips about criminal activities, drug trafficking, and other illegal actions in the area through this dedicated WhatsApp number. According to a statement from the Police Media Division, the identity of those sharing information will be kept private and secure. Residents are encouraged to send information using the WhatsApp number 077 712 8128.
