Sri Lanka assures seamless travel experience for tourists
Sri Lanka is fully open and ready to welcome tourists, promising a safe and smooth travel experience throughout the island, according to the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. Even with recent travel issues around the world due to events in the Middle East, all tourism services are running without any problems, the Bureau stated. Attractions such as cultural sites, wildlife parks, and leisure areas are open, and hotels, resorts, restaurants, and transport services are operating as usual. To help travelers affected by global uncertainties, the government has offered a two-week visa extension for foreign nationals currently in the country, starting from February 28. This extension allows visitors who face flight delays or cancellations to stay without worry. Sri Lanka Tourism and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), along with industry partners, have set up a priority fuel system for tourism vehicles to ensure that travel across the island continues smoothly, providing dedicated access for registered operators.
