The Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), D.J. Rajakaruna, announced that there is strict enforcement against filling stations selling fuel without using the QR system. He mentioned that actions are being taken to suspend the licenses of these stations. Rajakaruna encouraged the public in Sri Lanka to report any such fuel stations to the police or the CPC. He also warned that until a new shipment of petroleum arrives, there might be some risks to the fuel supply in the country. During an appearance on the Derana ‘BIG FOCUS’ program, he emphasized that controlling the situation is essential and that using the QR code system is necessary. He stressed the importance of community support to stop illegal activities and safeguard everyone's rights. “If you see fuel being sold without the QR system, please report it to both the petroleum organization and the closest police station right away. Filling station owners have been informed, and any issues with fuel stocks will result in strict actions,” said the CPC Chairman. He added, “This is about fairness for the public. Anyone who breaks the rules will face penalties, including the possibility of losing their license. Now is the time to protect your rights.”
