The Chairman of the National Transport Commission (NTC), P. A. Chandrapala, announced plans to increase the weekly fuel quota for passenger buses. This quota will range from 60 to 360 litres. During a press conference at the Ministry of Transport, he explained that the exact amount of fuel each bus will receive will depend on how far it travels. He also mentioned that, until the new system is fully in place, private buses will continue to get their fuel from depots run by the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
