The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) is likely to reveal its decision on changing electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026 by the end of this month. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has put forward a request to the PUCSL for a 13.56% increase in electricity rates, which would take effect from April 1 to June 30. To gather opinions, the PUCSL has started public consultation sessions about the proposed increase. Today, the third public consultation session is taking place in the Matale District.
