Notice on online process to obtain police clearance certificates

The Police Media Division in Sri Lanka has announced a new way to get police clearance certificates online. Many citizens often ask about how to obtain these reports for different reasons. To help with this, the police have updated their process and provided clear information. Now, people can apply for police clearance certificates through the E-Service portal found on the official Sri Lanka Police website at www.police.lk. By choosing “Clearance Certificates” on the portal, users can fill out the application form and send their request online. For Sri Lankans living outside the country, a fee of Rs. 5,100 is required to process the clearance certificate. After the payment is confirmed, applicants should receive their police clearance report in about 14 days. This initiative is part of the Sri Lanka Police’s goal to make it easier for people to access important documents while promoting transparency and convenience for both local and overseas applicants.
