Trump tells Iran s armed forces to surrender or face absolutely guaranteed death
US President Donald Trump urged Iran's armed forces on Thursday to surrender or face severe consequences. He also encouraged Iranian diplomats to seek asylum at their posts worldwide. “I am once again asking all members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, military, and police to put down their weapons,” Trump stated. “You will be completely safe and granted total immunity, or you will face guaranteed death, which I do not want to see happen.” Speaking at a sports event at the White House, he called for Iran to reduce its influence globally. “We also encourage Iranian diplomats everywhere to apply for asylum and help us create a new and better Iran with great potential,” he added. Trump described the US-Israeli military actions in Iran as a continuing success while celebrating a recent victory in Venezuela. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was taken by US special forces to New York, where he faces charges related to narcotrafficking. On Thursday, the US announced it had agreed with Venezuela to re-establish diplomatic and consular relations. Trump hinted that Cuba might be next, following his earlier comments about a potential “friendly takeover” of the island located just 90 miles from Florida. The struggling Venezuelan economy has been further damaged by the US-led halt of oil shipments. “Let’s finish this one first,” he remarked, adding, “we can tackle them all at once, but bad things happen,” without explaining what those bad things might be. The president made these remarks during a reception for the 2025 Major League Soccer champions, Inter Miami, at the White House.
