The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported an incident occurring 30 nautical miles southeast of Kuwait's Mubarak Al Kabeer. The captain of a tanker, which was anchored, mentioned that he heard and saw a significant explosion on the port side. He also noted that a small boat was seen leaving the area afterward. There was oil visible in the water from a cargo tank, which could lead to environmental issues, and the tanker had taken on water. Fortunately, UKMTO confirmed that all crew members were safe. Additionally, Kuwait's interior ministry stated that the explosion happened on the port side of the tanker outside of the country's territorial waters, at least 60 km (37 miles) from the port of Mubarak Al Kabeer.
