The Court of Appeal has decided to dismiss two writ petitions from Avant-Garde and its employees without holding a formal hearing. These petitions aimed to get a stay order against a directive from the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence. This directive required the removal of three armouries that the company maintained, according to a report from Ada Derana. After a preliminary review of the petitions, the Court chose not to move forward with the cases. Due to legal restrictions, the Ada Derana Editorial team has also decided to turn off comments on all articles related to ongoing court matters. Copyright ©2026 Ada Derana. All rights reserved.
