A fire has broken out today (19) in a mountain area of the Sri Pada Reserve, which is located in front of the Sri Pada peak. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it is spreading quickly because of strong winds and very dry weather in the region. The Sri Pada Reserve is an important environmental area that hosts many animal and plant species and is recognized for its rich biodiversity. Environmentalists are concerned that this precious ecosystem is in grave danger due to the fire. Since the blaze started in a hard-to-reach part of the mountains, no firefighting teams have been able to get to the site to put it out, according to an Ada Derana reporter.
